On-site examination and assessment of photographic materials and works on paper. Condition reports for loans, acquisitions, exhibitions, insurance claims, and private collections. Remote assessments based on video or images are also available. Reports may be provided in English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, or French
COLLECTION CARE, SURVEYS, AND PRESERVATION CONSULTING
Surveys, preservation assessments, and preventive care planning for museums, libraries, community archives, and private collections tailored to organizational goals and resources.. Services include guidance on housing, storage, environmental monitoring, handling, and exhibition planning. Luisa Casella is a Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) Assessor certified by the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC)
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE
Emergency response, triage, and stabilization services of photographic materials and works on paper following incidents such as water damage, mold outbreaks, and storage failures. Condition assessments, salvage recommendations, and coordination with insurers and stakeholders to support safe recovery

LECTURES, CLASSES, AND WORKSHOPS
Customized lectures, classes, and hands-on workshops on the history, technology, and preservation of photograph collections. Programs include topics such as photograph identification, care of film and glass negatives, color photography, disaster preparedness, and foundational skills in collection stewardship. Workshops and presentations can be designed for museum staff, community archives, university students, and public audiences across Upstate New York in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
